Bay Microsystems Adds New Executives To Management Team
Jeff Wolf Joins as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Gerry Jankauskas Is Appointed Chief Technical OfficerSanta Clara, CA, April 26, 2005 - Bay Microsystems, the leader in programmable network processors for high performance intelligent networks, today announced that Jeff Wolf has joined the company as senior vice president of marketing and Gerry Jankauskas has been named chief technical officer. Wolf and Jankauskas both report to president and CEO Chuck Gershman.
Wolf will further develop Bay's corporate and market strategies, and effectively communicate and differentiate Bay's programmable network processors, software and network elements for high performance intelligent networks. Jankauskas will continue to provide technology and system architectural leadership and support for technical business development and partnerships, in both the government and commercial sectors.
"Jeff brings more than 25 years of electronics industry experience in marketing, sales, business development and operations," said Gershman. Prior to joining Bay, Wolf was vice president of business development at CPU Technology, Inc., a private company delivering System-on-Chip-based, high performance embedded multiprocessing systems for government and commercial applications. Prior to that, he was vice president of worldwide sales and operations at Ubicom, a privately-held, fabless semiconductor company delivering embedded communication processors for consumer, enterprise and industrial markets. He also served at LSI Logic for sixteen years in a range of marketing and sales roles including vice president of marketing and vice president & general manager of Pan Asia. At LSI Logic, Wolf developed and successfully managed global account relationships with leading telecom and communications equipment OEMs. He earned his B.S.E. in Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania's Moore School of Engineering.
Jankauskas has been serving as Bay Microsystems' vice president of system architecture since 2003. With 15 years of experience in networking systems and platform development as well as business development, he has been providing strategic direction, working with network equipment vendors and service providers to develop high performance solutions for government, carrier and service provider networks. Prior to Bay, Jankauskas was chief architect at Cratos Networks where he built and marketed a next generation SONET/data platform. He also served as systems architect at 3Com (U.S. Robotics) Carrier Systems Group developing leading-edge access platforms for service providers, and at GTE in systems and development engineering roles applying commercial networking equipment to military applications. He holds a BSEE and an MSEE from the University of New Hampshire.
